Article from Wayne Today

Each morning, Miss Karen is ready to greet her students who are eagerly arriving in
the New Kinder-Stars program at Giggle and Grow Preschool and Early Learning Center.
The program is called “Kinder-Stars” and is a combination of enrichment and educational readiness activities for children age 5 to 6 years of age. This class is open to children
who are in a half-day kindergarten program who will benefit
from the enrichment component that is offered through the Giggle and Grows
curriculum, which also shadows the Wayne Public School system. This program is
also for children who have completed a 4 year-old preschool program (either
with Giggle and Grow or at another school), but do not yet demonstrate the
skills needed for kindergarten. The program provides the reinforcement
activities that will get them prepared for kindergarten the following year.
Ms.Karen Alexander is the certified teacher of the class and comes to the
school with many years teaching experience with this age group. The director
and owner Barbara Michelson is confidant that the enrichment program offers
just what parents expect for their children in a school that is bright, cheery,
and offers an outstanding program. Sibling discount for preschoolers (ages 2 ½
to 4) are available.

“Kinder-Stars” will emphasize phonics, sight words (word wall), reading and writing, science, and social studies, in addition to journal writing, creative arts, cooking,
science projects and dramatic play. This combined educational and enrichment
curriculum fosters a well-rounded program that prepares children for their
formal education and builds confidence. Children in Kinder-Stars can bring
lunch, which helps build socialization skills with their peers.

Registration for September 2013 Kinder-Stars program now being accepted for both morning and afternoon enrichment classes.
